The mop bucket is the cleaning equipment when cleaning a floor. Nowadays a mop bucket found is much lighter than the old ones made ten to twenty years ago. The new mop bucket is easier to move around or even to pushing for long distances. They now come also in different colours due to what is known as colour coding. This means different colours for different areas.The method of mopping defines the amount of buckets required to perform certain task. There is the one solution or two solution mop bucket.

The mop bucket have improved. Nowadays the mop bucket have a warning displayed on them. Before starting any task it is necessary to protect yourself and others around you. It is always safer to place a warning sign at each possible exit or access door. Ventilation of the room is also a good health safety practice. When mixing the hot water and the cleaning solution, the water should be poured in first. The cleaning solution should be poured in afterwards. One of the main reason for this procedure is to avoid the unnecessary foaming in the mop bucket. The amount of detergent needed for the mix is determined by the manufacturer's instructions. These instructions are on the detergent container. It is essential that they are read and followed as best as possible
Best Mopping tips
The mopping system that are being used are various. I find the best method is what I call the three session system. The first session is to mix the water and the detergent in the mop bucket as described earlier. Mop the floor with motions horizontally to the door. The mop bucket should be behind you but close to you to avoid the futile walking back and forward.
By using the squeezer, remove as much water as possible. Start the second session. Mop the surface in a direction vertically to the door. Before the beginning of the second session it might be necessary to change the water and detergent mix in the bucket and mop squeezer. This depends on the level dirtiness of the floor. This second session will clean the floor and remove more water from it. The third session is to squeeze as much water as possible from the mop without dipping in the water and
start working in a figure of eight from the far end of the room and move backwards towards the exit. The surface should look as if it was shining. Care has to be taken because some floors such as wooden floors have to be cleaned with as less water as possible to do the task using a wood care liquid.Once the mopping applicator has been taken out of the mop bucket, a room of 3 by 3 metres can be cleaned at one go without using the mop bucket again.
Bucket and mop squeezer types
A mop bucket on each side of the trolley is used for the two solution mopping. One mop bucket will have water and 
detergent mixed in it. The second mop bucket will only contain water. It is obvious that the second mop bucket will used for the last two session to rinse the floor. Once the task is finished, the mop bucket has to be cleaned and returned to the store room. All warning signs has to be removed. If there is any door wedged for ventilation, it should be released. Lastly, clean and store the mop bucket.
